Security (128-Bit Encryption)
Z-COMM's Desktop-Level Adaptive Security
The security of your communications and of your Internet use is primary, and Z-COMM
ensures that your communications are secure and your Internet access is not compromised.
Our security features include:
- Secure authentication during login.
- All Z-COMM's data (IM text, audio, video, remote control, file and document
sharing) is sent via SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and has 128-bit encryption. In addition,
Z-COMM adds the double-layer protection of leveraging encrypted tunnels
between all users communicating. As a result, no one can "intercept" your
communications.
- If you operate behind a firewall, your security will not be compromised, because
Z-COMM's pure SSL stream requires only that out-bound ports be open to the
Z-COMM Server farm.
- All communication is client-initiated, which is to say that neither the server nor
anybody else can initate a process on your local machine from a remote source.
- User access and security policies are enforced by the server, not the client.
NAT and Proxies
- Z-COMM is 100% compatible with any NAT device, from basic consumer routers
to enterprise firewalls.
- Z-COMM supports SOCKS 4.0 and 5.0 proxy servers along with a long list of
proprietary architectures.
How Secure is Z-COMM?
Z-COMM's adaptive peer encryption delivers the most secure method available
for sharing information online. To prove our point we created a simple example that
would represent how secure our encryption algorithms are.
Factual Security Example
A truly 128-bit encrypted connection has a possibility of 3.4 x 1066
or 3,402,823,669,209,384,634,633,746,074,300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
different combinations! Z-COMM applies encryption to all points of
communication, including audio, video, data and web traffic.
